We’re talking about a fantastic study, the best, really, comparing this incredible deep learning AI to the top guys, the attending radiologists, for spotting fractures in the C-spine on CT scans. And let me tell you, it’s big. We had a lot of scans, 2368 to be exact, and this AI, it’s smart, but the radiologists, they’re smart too.
Now, the AI, it found 71.5% of the fractures, which is good, but the radiologists, they found 88.2%, which is better, believe me. But here’s the thing, the AI, it caught 22 fractures that the radiologists missed, including almost all that needed some serious fixing, the ISTs. That’s right, it’s got potential, a lot of it.
So, what’s the bottom line? The AI, it’s not perfect, it missed some, but it’s a fighter, it caught a lot of the tough ones. And the radiologists, they’re still the best, but together, they’re an unbeatable team. We’re going to see great things, the best things, from this AI as a concurrent reader. It’s going to be huge for fracture management, I’m telling you.
