Let me tell you, folks, we’ve got something huge here. We’re talking about the most challenging, the toughest aneurysms you can imagine – Vertebrobasilar artery dissecting aneurysms, VBDAs. But guess what? We’ve tackled them, and we’ve tackled them big time. From 2015 to 2022, we looked back at 21 patients who underwent what I call the ultimate treatment – cerebral revascularization. And let me tell you, the results? Incredible.

We divided these patients into four groups based on where this sneaky aneurysm was hiding and how it was behaving. Some had it at the VA with PICA involvement – that’s 10 patients. Then there was one patient here, one patient there, but what matters is we had a plan for each one. We had strategies, folks, smart strategies. Whether it involved low-flow bypasses, high-flow bypasses, or even no bypass at all, we had it covered.

And the outcomes? Out of this world. Out of 21 patients, 20 saw improvement or stayed strong. Seventeen of them came out with favorable functional outcomes. That’s a win in my book. Sure, we faced challenges – one patient didn’t make it, but let’s focus on the victories. Aneurysms obliterated in 13 patients, shrank in 5, stabilized in 2. And during the follow-up? Every single bypass was doing its job, and we saw even more improvement.

So, what’s the bottom line? Cerebral revascularization for complex VBDAs? Safe. Effective. It’s not just a treatment; it’s a game-changer. We’re leading the way, folks, making things better for everyone involved. That’s what we do, and we do it big.
