This study delves into the attitudes of clients towards rodent control, specifically focusing on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and preventive measures, through an online survey of 248 clients of Dutch pest controllers from various sectors. The research highlights a sector-based divergence in attitudes: clients from the agricultural sector exhibited a relatively negative stance towards IPM and its regulations, showing little confidence in prevention. Conversely, clients from other sectors displayed more positive attitudes towards IPM and a higher confidence in preventive strategies, aligning closely with the attitudes of Dutch pest controllers from a prior survey. This insight is crucial for enhancing the implementation of IPM, aiming for a more sustainable and humane approach to rodent management. The findings underscore the importance of tailored communication and cooperation strategies between pest controllers and their clients to foster a more effective adoption of IPM and preventive measures.
