We’ve got something incredible going on in the world of pediatric urology. It’s this thing called interferential current (IFC) electrical stimulation, and let me tell you, it’s making a huge splash for kids with lower urinary tract problems. We’re talking about a real game-changer here.

So, we did the most comprehensive search – Embase, Medline, SCOPUS – you name it, we searched it. We followed the best guidelines out there, the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses. We’re not messing around. We found some studies, got rid of the duplicates, and ended up with six top-notch randomized clinical trials. And guess what? They’re all showing low risk of bias. That’s right, they’re the real deal.

These kids went through 10 to 18 sessions, and the results? Phenomenal. We’re seeing 61-90% of them responding with big improvements. And it’s not just IFC – transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation is doing great too. But IFC? It’s showing even better immediate and short-term results. It’s winning.

Here’s the bottom line: IFC is a promising therapy for bladder dysfunction and enuresis in children. But we’re not stopping here. We need more trials, more data to prove it’s the best of the best. And safety? We’re going to make sure it’s perfectly safe before we make it standard. We’re going to get the protocol just right for our kids.
